Description
The BB30 bottom bracket system features a 68mm (road) or 73mm (MTB) wide shell and a 30mm diameter crank spindle. The frame’s bottom bracket shell itself is not threaded; instead, the bearings press directly into the frame. The BB30 frame shell has an inner diameter of 42mm and accommodates two bearing retaining clips and two 6806 bearings, which press directly into the shell. Additionally, the BB30 system utilizes thin spacers and/or a wave washer positioned between the bearings and crank arms to eliminate any slack and allow for micro-adjustment of the crank’s chainline.
